Margrét is the person behind the tourism service in Mjóifjörður. She has worked there more or less since she was 14 years old. Her mother, Jóhanna, founded the company in 1985, and Margrét took over the operation in 2020.

Margrét is educated as a kindergarten and elementary school teacher, as well as a tourism expert.

She knows nothing better than staying in Mjóifjörður with her family, together with her dog Tobba and her cat Gretti, surrounded by high mountains and endless beauty of the nature.

Margrét makes every effort to make the guests’ experience as good as possible when they visit the beautiful fjord. “If my guests experience tranquility, relaxation and refreshment of body and soul after their stay, then my goal has been achieved,” says Margrét.

The motto for tourism in Mjóifjörður is: Tranquility and stunning nature.
