Transport on land

The road to Mjóifjörður is a gravel road and quite steep in some places. It´s open to all cars(the smallest cars are not necessarily the best option) despite the fact that for inexperienced drivers it can be a challenge, especially if driving in the dark or fog.

The road descends into the fjord and along the northern coast, giving you a road-trip through Mjóifjörður highlights.

The road to Mjóifjörður is not cleared of snow during the winter and therefore impassable due to snow from approx. October/November to April/May every year.
